Obituary

Mrs. Alice Ann Bryant Bain Rose, age 90, of Pine Forest, departed this life and entered into the presence of Jesus during the early morning hours of November 16, 2020. Ann passed away peacefully at her residence.
Ann was born February 11, 1930, in Hopkins County, Texas, the youngest daughter of the late Farrah Ingram Hunter “Boss” and Gladys Irene Bryant.
Ann married Joe E. Bain, Jr. in September of 1949. She was a lifelong member of Pine Forest Methodist Church where she served as treasurer, and in recent years, helped the small church organize a food bank for local families.
Technically, Ann was a homemaker. But in reality, she worked tirelessly alongside her husband, “Junior” and their children on their Jersey dairy farm until it was sold in the early nineteen nineties. After retiring, Ann enjoyed mowing her yard, tending to her flowerbeds, and balancing her checkbooks to the penny. Her favorite color was purple and she made the best chicken-n-dumplings in the world.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband of 49 ½ years, Joe E. Bain, Jr. (Junior); her youngest son, Stanley Paul Bain; her older sister, Virginia “Babyease” Louise Bryant Howle, and stepson, Jerry Rose.
On April Fool’s Day of 2006, Ann Bain became Ann Rose when she married Robert E. Rose. The two had been grade-school and lifelong friends. After losing their spouses, they found that their sweet friendship developed into a loving companionship. They enriched each other’s lives and added countless years of happiness.
Ann is survived by her husband of 14 ½ years, Robert of Pine Forest; two sons and a daughter, Keith Bain and Edith of Pine Forest, Ricky Lynn Bain of Pine Forest, and Leeta Louise Mattison and Glenn of Sulphur Springs, and Robert’s children, Thomas and Elaine Rose of North Dallas, Nancy and Stan Weleski of Mesquite; grandchildren, Eva Williamson and Keith of Athens, Brian Bain and Moressa of Sulphur Springs, Brandon Bain and Karmon of Sulphur Springs, Brittney Smith and Anthony of Pine Forest, Maci Tucker and Brannon of Sulphur Springs, Matthew Mattison and Jamie of Sulphur Springs, Maggi Devoto and Tony of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, Leslie Fowler and Kase of Chico, Joshua Paul Bain and Kay of Decator, Brittany Hand and Aaron of Decator; great grandchildren Ragan Rutherford, Briana and Dustin McFatridge, Kendall and Justin Moore, Kendall Bain, Collins Hayley, Chandler Bain, Jack Bain, Saylor and Mercy Smith, Noah and Anna-Claire Newsom, Keaton Tucker, Sophie, Stella, and Sarah Devoto, Rashay and Keegan Fowler, Grant and Caden Paul Bain, Ava and Aiden Paul Hand; and one great, great grandchild, Kaden. Robert’s grandchildren called her Grandmother, too; Pete Rose along with his children, Ben, Joe, Michael, and Molly of Quinlan, Richard Rose and Tish along with their children, Jackson, Koltyn, Leelynn and Morrison of Forney, Marshall Rose and Mandi with their children, Presley and Lawson of Van Alstyne, Janice Gill and Dyke with their son, Dominic of Richardson, and Marc Rose and Laura with their children, Karis and Caleb of Plano.
Pallbearers for Ann are Keith Williamson, Brian Bain, Joshua Paul Bain, Matthew Mattison, Dustin McFatridge, Justin Moore, and Collins Hayley.
She leaves behind family, friends, and a community who will greatly miss her.
Visitation will be held at 12pm, Sunday, November 22, 2020, at Beaty Funeral Home in Winnsboro, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Sunday, November 22, 2020, at Beatty Funeral Home in Winnsboro with Rev. Beverly Olson officiating. Burial will follow at the Pine Forest Cemetery.
