Obituary for William Terry "Bill" Roark

William T. Roark
Bill was born on Feb. 16, 1948, in Columbus, Ohio to Guy and Loretta Roark. He was part of a family of 7 siblings and was raised in London and Range, Ohio. As a youngster Bill mowed lawns and did farm work for the neighbors around Range. He enjoyed playing sports of all kinds with his brothers and friends.
Bill graduated from Madison South high School in 1966 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1968. He received training as a Hospital Corpsman in the Navy and served in Vietnam, the Philippines, England and the United States. While in the Philippines Bill married Lorna Sulit and they had one daughter, April Roark. After Lorna passed away, he married Debbie Chaffin and had a son, Joshua Roark.
Bill served 20 years in the Navy and retired in 1987. After the Navy, he worked as a radiological technician in South Carolina and Texas. He spent his last 12 years retired in Winnsboro, Texas to be close to his children and grandchildren, Dakota Whitson, Tristen Roark and Star Boggs; brothers, Ron, Doug, Steve, Ken and Jeff Roark and sister Denise Sparks and many cousins, aunts and uncles.
Bill's remains will be cremated at Beaty Funeral Home in Winnsboro and his ashes will be interred with Military Honors at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C.
