Obituary for Vernon Theodore Thompson

Mr. Vernon Theodore "Ted" Thompson, age 76 of Winnsboro, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2022 in Winnsboro. He was born on August 18, 1945 in Denton, Texas to the late Blake Thompson and Hazel Bell Thompson.
Ted was owner of TNT Welding and retired from BBHazel. He was a member of The Cowboy Church in Gilmer, was always involved and willing to sponsor Garland School functions and was a member of the Garland Chamber of Commerce.
Ted was a family man with unconditional love for his wife Mildred of 57 years, Ted never missed a day seeing her at the nursing home even at the window during covid. Nothing made him happier than having his grandchildren and great grandchildren at "The Land" for poker, gardening, feeding chickens, or fishing at the stock pond. But most of all sitting on the front porch playing guitars and singing his road runner song.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Larry Owens, Johnny Thompson, Charlie Thompson, Jerry Thompson, Leroy Thompson, Virgil Thompson and sister, Joyce Erwin.
Survivors include his loving wife, Mildred "Millie" Thompson of Winnsboro; son, Vernon Thompson, Jr. and wife, Allison of Winnsboro; daughters, Judy Dunlap and husband, Jim of Sachse, Sheila Sutherland of Winnsboro; Teddie Thompson of Big Sandy; brother, Billy Thompson; sister, Donna Thompson Honea of Lewisville; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
