Obituary for Tony Wheeler

Tony Martin Wheeler, 74, passed away peacefully in his Tyler home on September 8th, 2022. He was born in Smith County, Texas on September 1, 1948. He attended Mineola High School before joining the United States Army in 1969 where he served during wartime in Vietnam.
Tony was a big fan of Texas Rangers baseball and had a great love for hunting, fishing, traveling, camping at the Texas coast and spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed.
Tony was preceded in death by his wife, Carolin Wheeler of Tyler, TX; father Adrian Wheeler and mother Dorthy French, both of Smith County and sister, Vicky Dearth of Anchorage, AK.
He is survived by his daughter, Candy Turner and husband, Jason of Wasilla, AK;
son (step), Wendell Cannon and wife, Susan of Mineola, TX; daughter (step), Tammie Green and husband, Gary of Terrell, TX; his nephew, Jeffery Jones and wife Megan of Longview, TX, whom he raised since he was a small child; grandchildren, Tiffany Rowe and husband Jason of Wasilla, AK; Levi Simmons, Sergeant United States Army and wife Tabitha of Fort Lewis, WA; Misty West of Junction City, KS; Stacy Green of Quinlan, TX; Caleb Cannon; Whitley Cadarette and husband Jonathan all of Mineola, TX, Chyenne Jones of Lindale, TX, Lexon Jones; brother, Freddy Wheeler and wife Karen of Thalmassing, Germany and sister, Tammy Jo Forrester of Yantis, TX; as well as 10 great grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements have been made for Monday, September 12th at 2pm at Beaty Funeral home in Mineola, Tx. located on Hwy 37 with Pastor James Clark officiating.
There will be a visitation from 1-2 p.m. preceding the services.
He will be buried at New Hope cemetery next to his father.
