Obituary

Tillman Clay Turner, Sr., 85, of Winnsboro, Texas, passed away on April 8, 2020 with his wife of 62 years,
Virginia Turner, at his side.
Tillman was born on March 10, 1935 to Julia and Lawrence Turner at home in Winnsboro, Texas. The
youngest of nine children, he attended Winnsboro High School where he was the football team’s
quarterback. He then moved to Houston where he attended Lamar High School and met the love of his
life, Virginia, in 1956. Upon completion of service in the National Guard, Tillman held the rank of
Sargeant. They were happily married on November 26, 1958, and together raised a family of six in
Houston where he built his own printing business, Southwestern Badge & Stamp Works, before retiring
and moving back to Winnsboro in 2013.
With success in sports, business, marriage and family, the driving force and center of it all was his faith
and devotion to his entire family whose hearts always were and will remain devoted to him. He was so
easy to like and to love, so endlessly giving, and he will continue to be giving as we embrace his vivid
memory.
His imprint of perfect love can be seen in his loved ones he adored including his wife, Virginia Lovina
Burbridge Turner, his sister Norma Gaye Bryce and his many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by
his six children Tillman Clay Turner, Jr., Cynthia Renee Turner-Fogarty, Felisa Marshee Cooper and her
husband, Robert Charles Cooper, Flint McKay Turner and his wife Julie Doran Turner, Virginia Monique
Kaye Turner, Gabrielle Evelina O’Shay Beuning and her husband, Frederick Alfred Beuning, Jr.; his
amazing 10 grandchildren and 12 great-great children: Mandy Rae Denney with Tony Manning and their
beautiful girls Cayla Blue, Isabella, Aubree and Gracie Manning; Avril Renee Denney with Corey Jones
and their sweet son, Jude Jones; Katherine Alanna Rochelle Rosenbaum and her husband, Gregory with
their amazing three, Alexander, Tilly and Jackson Rosenbaum; Joshua Denny and his wife, Lela, with
their spunky two, Paisley and Rowdy Denney; Tillman Chase Turner with his wife, Petra and their
beautiful daughter Emma Grace; Rachel Evelyna Schulse and her husband, Cory Schulse and their loving
son, Oliver; Rebecca Lynn McKenzie Fogarty with Colton Ridley; Mason Shay Turner, Forrest McKay
