Obituary for Susan Annette Jones (Kattes)

Mrs. Susan Annette Jones, age 70 of Grand Saline, passed away on Monday, November 14, 2022 in Dallas Surrounded by her family. She was born on November 10, 1952 in Dallas to the late J.B. Kattes and Jennie Alford Kattes.
Susan was the Branch Office Administrator for Edward Jones in Mineola for over 20 years and a member of Main Street Baptist Church in Grand Saline. She loved spending time with her husband, kids (especially her grandkids), and friends. She worked full time, ran kids wherever they needed to be, cooked cleaned, and made it all look effortless. Her kids says that when it came to anything her mom set the bar pretty high, you never saw her yard where it didn't resemble a park or her house where it didn't look magazine ready. She loved spending time working in the yard, reading books, having breakfast dates with friends, taking naps with her chihuahua "Daisy", and doing crossword puzzles. Her favorite things to do really amounted to whatever involved her husband, you could always guarantee that when you saw one of them the other wasn't far behind. Susan never met a person that didn't eventually turn into a friend, she had the ability to light up any room she entered. Her smile was contagious, her personality was bubbly, and you could always count on her to make even your best day just a little bit better. She was a hard worker, had a fighting spirit, and she valued her relationship with Christ and was confident of where she would be spending eternity.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Chelsea Annette Jones and granddaughter, Elaina Jones.
Survivors include her loving husband, Sammy Jones of Grand Saline; son, Matthew Blake Jones and wife, Shantel Mae of Waskom; daughter, Brittany Janette McSchooler and husband, Michael of Grand Saline; sister, Jan Auld and husband, Sonny of Paris; grandchildren Emilia Katte, Chase Michael and Conner Blake.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 18, 2022 at Beaty Funeral Home 5320 S. State Hwy. 37 Mineola, TX at 3:00 pm with Rev. David Crane conducting.
