Stanley Scott Henry, 54, of Scroggins, died Saturday, April 1, 2023 at his home. He was born in Grand Prairie, Texas, November 29, 1968, to Stanley Alden Henry and Cynthia Sue Nugen Henry. Scott moved to the Scroggins/Winnsboro area with his family in 1978. He attended Mt. Vernon and Winnsboro Schools before moving to Grand Prairie for his senior year of high school. He graduated in 1987. After graduation, he served 2 years in the US Army in Germany. Upon his returning home, he moved to Arkansas, where he met and married Belinda Turley in 1996. During his marriage to Belinda, they were blessed with three daughters.
As life happens, Scott ended up in Dallas, Texas working with his brother for Hull Industries doing layout for new apartment complexes. He met Melissa Roebuck Loller in 2008 and they married September 25, 2010. Shortly after they married, he started his own business, H & H Construction. Scott was a hard worker who didn't know the meaning of "slow down". He was usually going 90 to nothing!! He was a good friend, willing to help anyone who asked. He just couldn't say no! His parents instilled in him and his brother a good work ethic from a young age and he found it hard to actually sit down and rest!
In 2013, a little late in life, Scott and Melissa welcomed a son into their family. They made their home in Scroggins, where he still resided until his untimely death.
Scott attended Clearwater Baptist Church. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting wild hogs and deer, fishing when he got the chance and taking care of his yard and planting his garden. When Friday came around, hanging out with his brother was a must; even though he didn't care much about helping work with the honey bees! You could bet money that Scott was going to get stung, probably more than once!
Scott and his son, Mattie, liked killing flies in the man-cave and harassing Melissa's cats. Mattie wanted to hang out with da-da and thought he was just hilarious! He looked forward to getting phone calls from his daughters and hearing all about his grand-kids and their lives.
Scott is survived by his wife, Melissa; daughters Miranda and Madison of Arkansas; daughter, Mazzie of Wylie; son, Mattie of Scroggins; parents Stan and Cindy Henry; brother Monty and wife, Jami; four grandkids, Nyia, DeShawn, Jaxton and Keelyn, all of Arkansas; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, as well as, many friends and loyal customers.
He is and will be missed.
The Henry family will be holding their own memorial service for Scott.
