Obituary for Sammy Friday

Samuel David Friday III, affectionately known as Sammy to family and friends joined the faithful in Heaven on November 29, 2022. He was born on September 25, 1960, in El Paso, Texas, to Samuel David Friday II and Pinkie Lue (Benard) McGill. Sammy was the definition of a true friend. If you were around Sammy long enough then you knew he was going to give you a big hug. He was a lifelong resident of Winnsboro. Sammy had worked in his younger years on the dairy farm, became a HVAC technician for C. Wood Heating and Air Conditioning in Tyler, and retired doing that work for TDCJ in Winnsboro. He loved cattle, listening to country music, fishing, and most importantly his grandchildren. Sammy was a member of the Winnsboro Bass Club. He was preceded in death by his mother Pinkie Lue McGill in 2021. Sammy is survived by his father, Samuel David Friday II; wife Pam Morris; sons Trae Sims, Michael Herrera, Jason and Pam Morris, and Joe and Ashlee Morris; daughter Crystal Moody and her husband Eric; brothers Virgil Dixon, Dexter Friday and Shonda Kane, and Charles and Pepper McGill; sister Lenita Johnson; grandchildren Lexie Moody, Marco Moody, Lauren Morris, Jack Morris, Jett Morris, and Mylee Morris; nieces and nephews, Karringtyn McGill, C.J. McGill, Natalie and John Mitchell, Nathan and Katy Friday and great nephew, Maxwell Mitchell. Visitation for Sammy will be held on Sunday, December 4th from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Beaty Funeral Home in Winnsboro. His funeral will be held Monday, December 5th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Beaty Funeral Home with Chaplain Casey Miner officiating. Interment will follow the service at Smyrna Cemetery. Those who will serve as pallbearers are Kevin Lindley, Nathan Lofton, Jason Morris, Joe Ray Morris, Donnie Alexander, and Ray Allen. Honorary pallbearers Billy Powell and members of the Winnsboro Bass Club.
