Russell Neil Leonard
August 26, 1947- March 19, 2020

Russell went to be with his Heavenly Father and to be with family and friends that have gone before. He was baptized at Cypress Springs Baptist Church in Scroggins and was a member of Clearwater Baptist Church.

He is survived by his loving wife Gail; Daughter Stacy Carter-Leonard and husband David; grandson Reese; Son Steven Anthony Leonard, Son Michael Paul Leonard and wife Barb; grandchildren Mckenlee Jo and Allyson Taylor; Son Thomas Leonard; Daughter Sandra Leonard Morgan and husband Travis; grandchildren Lindsey and Summer; Stepson Jimmy Sherbert and grandchildren Katelyn, Dallas and Kennedy; Sister Ronda Brown;
Brother in law Larry Morrow; Sister in law Sandra Brock and husband John;
Sister in law Margaret Howard; Brother in law Charles Williams and wife June;
Mother in law Alva Williams; and many nieces, nephews, friends and former wife Linda Rodgers.

Russell loved life and traveled the world during his 30 year career with the United States Navy where he attained the rank of Master Chief. After retiring, he became a postman for the Winnsboro Post Office where he enjoyed meeting people, making friends and bringing joy to their day.

Russ was a wonderful husband and father and enjoyed playing pranks, telling jokes and remembering words to his favorite movies and songs.
He always had a joke to make you laugh.
Because of the current crisis America is in we are asking that services be attended by invitation only.
In lieu of flowers we request donations to the Leukemia and Cancer foundation, or your choice of charities.
Anchors away and smooth sailing.

My memories working with Russell at the Winnsboro Post Office have left so many conversation. I always liked talking to Russell. My last time I talked with him was several years ago wishing him a Happy Birthday. I am feeling your loss and my prayers are with you.
