Mr. Roger Ray James, age 76 of Malakoff, passed away on Friday, March 31, 2023 in Tyler. He was born on October 28, 1946 in Ft. Worth, Texas to the late Gordon Roger James and Lura Marie James.
Roger was a retired Fleet Service Clerk and a Union Rep. and served in the U.S. Airforce during Vietnam.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Winnsboro, loved fishing, being a Grandpa, and spending time with friends and family telling jokes and stories.
Survivors include his loving wife, Linda James; sons, Brian Roger James and wife Jamie, Aaron Patterson, Christopher Patterson and wife Amber, and Jonathan Patterson and wife Audrey; daughter, Angela Gallup and husband Jon; brother, Bill James and wife Rhonda; fourteen grandchildren; Will James, Hunter James, Brianna James, Logan Slater, Darien Gallup, Calli Hotelling, Caleb Patterson, Chloe Patterson, Dylan Patterson, Megan Thomen, Christina Martinez, Clarissa Gardea, Payton Patterson, Noah Patterson and one great grandchild; Miles Patterson.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 from 10:00 am to 10:30 am at Beaty Funeral Home 5320 S. State Hwy. 37 Mineola, TX. Funeral Services will follow at 10:30 at the funeral home with Dr. David Rose conducting.
Interment will be 2:30 pm Tuesday at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway in Dallas, with Aaron Patterson, Christopher Patterson, Jonathan Patterson, Brian James, Bill James, Jon Gallup serving as pallbearers.
