Ray Clifford Drake, 83, of Pickton, Texas, entered into eternal rest from his labors on July 2, 2022. Mr. Drake was born on July 7, 1938, in Friona, Texas, to the late Melvin Wesley and Francis Elizabeth (Allen) Drake. Starting as a young man, Ray drove for Surfine Frozen Food Company. He went on to working in the oilfield industry. Mr. Drake worked for Delaney Oil Field Company for 20 years and retired from Renshaw Well Service in Winnsboro at the age of 55. His retirement, due to an accident at work didn't slow Ray down. Mr. Drake was an excellent welder and one of his most treasured memories was teaching his oldest granddaughter how to weld while she was a freshman in high school. Ray was preceded in death by his parents; first wife Floy Jackline Drake; brother George Drake; sisters Charlene Holmes, Latricia Holmes, and Sondra Campbell. He is survived by wife Patsy Drake; son John Wesley Drake and wife Darla; daughters Anna Dickens and husband Jimmy, Tarry McMahon, Wanda Baugh, Tommy Sue Bass, Belinda Dishler, and Barbara Dishler 22 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, brother-in-law Donnie Harbin and wife Wendy, and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at Harmony Cemetery on Friday, July 8, 2022, at 10:00 a.m., Bro. Nub Brown officiating.
