Mrs. Patsy Walters, of Pickton, Texas, closed her eyes in this world on November 16, 2021, with her family by her bedside. Patsy was born on March 5, 1936 to Troy and Minnie Lee (Brown) Gillispie in Pampa, Texas. The family left the panhandle of Texas when Patsy was a young girl, and they made their way to the Hopkins County area of Pickton. She attended and received her Master's degree in Education from East Texas State Teacher's College and began a 38 year career in teaching. The first 2 years were in Liberty, Texas, and the remaining 36 years were with the Winnsboro ISD. Patsy was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Pickton. She loved her community and shared her love of cooking with her friends, loved the thousands of children she taught, doted over her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and had a special love for her many friends that she taught with. Patsy is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 62 years Thomas Walters, Jr.; son Scott Walters and wife Brenda; grandchildren Ryan Walters and wife Ashley, Joel Walters; great-grandchildren Jaxton Walters and Asher Walters; sister Delilah Willingham; sisters-in-law Gail Walters and Janie Rudolph; nephews Buddy Walters, Brandon Walters, and Brooks Rudolph; niece Lisa Price. A visitation will be held at Beaty Funeral Home in Winnsboro on Tuesday, November 23rd from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. with the service to begin at 11:00 a.m. Bro. Mike Haun officiating. Interment will follow at New Pickton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donation be made to the Pickton Cemetery Association, P.O.
