Obituary for Michael Earl Morris

Michael Earl Morris was born February 12,1950 in Sulphur Springs, Texas. He was welcomed to the world by parents W.T. “Mutt” Morris and Lizzie Nell Hazlewood Morris and siblings Tom Morris and Lou Morris Chandler, who all have preceded him in death. Mikey passed away on October 17, 2020 peacefully after a full life and a short illness.

He grew up in Winnsboro, Texas where he spent his time playing baseball, basketball, football, participating in activities at the First United Methodist Church and Graduating from Winnsboro High School in 1968. In 1974, a blind date with Zanna Todd Morris, turned into a 45 year marriage. Together they have two daughters, Tamara Morris Langley and husband Lance of Winnsboro, and Tiffany Morris and her love Matt Martinez of Huntsville, and one grandson Logan Langley, who all survive him. He also leaves behind special nieces and nephews, Tommy Morris, Pam Wallis, Julie Conner, Joe Chandler, Debra Sue Miers, Stephanie Hankins, Rene Whittling, Nicki Wolfe, and Michael Todd.

Mikey was known best for telling jokes, his calm and patient demeanor, his love of old county music, his woodworking skills and his gardening and cooking ability. Mikey had a few careers along the way. He was a dairyman, a woodworker and a postman. We have the comfort in knowing we will see him again in Heaven. Memorial Services will be held Thursday, October 22, 2020 at Harmony Chapel and Cemetery 1 pm visitation, 2 pm service with graveside following. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Friends of Harmony Cemetery.
