Mary Marie Willis Attaway, 89, of Mineola, was born September 2, 1933 to Frank Willis and Allice Fuston in Farmersville, Texas and Gained her wings to be with the Lord on December 29th, 2022 in Mineola, Texas.
Marie was married to her school sweetheart from 1st grade and the love of her life, Roland “Jake” Attaway on July 14, 1953. She was a seamstress at Buddy Schoelkopf’s for 32 years . She hauled hay & farmed with her family afterwork to help make ends meet. After retiring, Marie & Jake would raise a garden to help with income at their Mom & Pop Vegetable Stand in front of their home. It was the honor system with a fruit jar for payment. She enjoyed family gatherings, such as cookouts, fishing and buying storage bins with Jake, just so she could go thru the boxes. She loved finding treasures.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband of almost 65 years, son Virgil Attaway, Daughter in Law Carolyn Attaway, 4 brothers Joe, Jessie, Franklin and Earnest; Brother in Laws K.T.Mize, Bob Bullard, Ulysses “Mutt” Belcher; Sister-in-Laws Ruby Willis, Lillian Willis and Druevelle & Bruce Smith and Valree & Ernest Harrell.
Marie is survived by 3 sons, Keith Attaway, Mike Attaway & wife Becky and Vincent Attaway; Sisters Barbara Abbott & husband Frank of Longview, Joyce Ann Bullard of Mineola and Odessa Belcher of Van; One Brother Dale Willis & wife Patsy of Mineola and Sister-in-Law Pat Willis of Quitman.
7 Grandchildren Regina Attaway of Mineola, Nakeea Attaway & wife Chasity of Round Rock, Cody Attaway of Mineola, Roland Attaway of Lindale, Layne Attaway & wife Amanda of Tyler, Chris Williams & wife Sara of Houston, and Daniel Williams of Hawkins
12 Great Grand Children: Blakely Cunningham & husband Austin of Whitehouse, Caitlin Medford of Rosser; Taylor Medford of Tyler, Dalton Mitts of Whitehouse, Josh Attaway of Lindale, Slade Attaway of Mineola, Vincent Plunk of Mineola, Jazlynn Attaway of Tyler, Dakota Attaway of Tyler, Maggie Williams of Huffman, Texas, Kobe Williams of Houston and Ethan Williams of Hawkins;
4 Great Great Grand Children: Levi Medford, Kaydyn Medford, Roland Medford and Meri Layna Medford; Several Nieces and Nephews.
