Obituary for Jeanette Sanders

Martha Jeanette Sanders, age 72 of Alba, passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 in a Tyler hospital. She passed with her family by her side into God’s hands peacefully after courageously fighting to overcome a long and hard-fought illness. She was born November 22, 1949 in Dallas, Texas to the late Douglas Harry and Martha Pearl Johnston Fralicks. Her family relocated to Red Springs at a young age.

She graduated Salutatorian from Winona High School and was a graduate of Tyler Commercial College. She worked several years as an administrative secretary for National Homes in Owentown, and retired after 24 years from Mother Frances Hospital. Jeanette was a member of Sand Springs Baptist Church. She served in many roles when she was a member at Red Springs Missionary Baptist Church.

Jeanette loved to refurbish antiques, decorate, and make crafts. She had a special knack for making gift baskets tailored just for the person she made them for. She loved family get-togethers and cherished time with her family more than anything. Christmas was always the most magical time for her. She loved giving the most unique and cherished gifts, always full of surprises; everyone was spoiled by her. Jeanette was a wonderful cook and always made sure everyone had their favorite dish, cooking way more than she should have so no one ever left hungry or empty handed. She loved fishing, camping and traveling and always up for a road trip. She truly had a heart of gold and gave selflessly to everyone, never expecting anything in return. To know her was to be loved by her.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Jeanette is survived by her husband of 24 years, Billy Sanders of Alba; son, Eric Downing of Bullard; daughter, Lorie Cruseturner and husband Gary of Rusk; step daughters, LaDarla Sanders-Lioret of North Carolina and Starla Bryant of Sulphur Springs; brothers, Donald Fralicks of Whitehouse and Johnny Fralicks of Red Springs; sister, Judy Wintters of Red Springs; grandchildren, Emery Downing and Evan Downing, Emily Jones and husband Dakota, Logan Cruseturner and Landon Cruseturner; great granddaughter, Ellianna Gracelyn, whom she adoringly called Baby Angel; a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and best friend, Denise Cruz.
