Obituary for Mark Allen Clothier
Dr. Mark Allen Clothier, age 66 of Winnsboro, passed away on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 in Mineola. He was born on November 24, 1954 in Plainview to Gale Clothier and Marye Jo Clothier. He was a beloved Physician in Winnsboro since July 1986 and was a member of Rock Hill Baptist Church.
Dr. Clothier obtained his Pharmacy Degree from the University of Texas at Austin as a member of Rho Chi Honor Society in 1979. He then felt the calling to be more involved in the patient’s lives and went back to school and obtained his Medical Degree from University of Texas at Houston. He graduated in 1983 within the top 10% of his class and earned the honor of being a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. In 1986 Dr. Clothier finished his Residency program with the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque and, soon after, moved his family to Winnsboro, Texas and started his Internal Medicine Practice where he cared and treated patients for 35 years.
Dr. Clothier was preceded in death by his wife Connie in 2007 and by his father, Gale Clothier.
He is survived by his mother, Marye Jo Clothier of Little Rock; daughters, Greta Blankenship and husband, Nicholas of Kilgore, Katie Melton and husband, Jeffry of Flint, and Hanna Nichols and husband, Cody of Palestine; brothers, Phil Clothier of Crawfordsville and Jeff Clothier of Little Rock; sister, Carolyn Wilson of Burlington, Vermont; four grandchildren, Logan, Liam, Landry, and Michael.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2021 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Beaty Funeral Home-Winnsboro 816 W. Broadway Winnsboro, TX 75494. Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 pm at the funeral home with Bro. Ken Goodson conducting.
