Beloved wife, mother and grandmother Marilyn Darlene Attaway passed away after a brief illness on November 8, 2020. Marilyn was born in Port Arthur, Texas on September 6, 1948 to the late James Beckett and Velma Mahan Beckett. She was also preceded in death by brother Robert Beckett. Mrs. Attaway is survived by her devoted husband of 33 years Jimmy Attaway; daughter LaDawn Sherwood and husband Gerald, son Craig Massengale and wife Shellie, son Shane Attaway and wife Kristy, daughter Vannah Lankford and husband Craig; grandchildren Mariah Schulz, Gianna Abdoo, Izabella Abdoo, Shelby Massengale, Allison Massengale, Jasmin Taylor, Robert Taylor, Jr., Avery Attaway, Abigail Attaway; nephew Booth Beckett. Marilyn was an incredible lady who radiated warmth and kindness to all who loved and knew her. She had a Big Heart and lived for her grandchildren. Marilyn was one who loved taking off on the next ocean cruise. She and Jimmy were members of Fellowship Baptist Church in Forney. Before retiring, Marilyn worked many years for Albertsons Food Store as a bookkeeper and receiving clerk. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 13 in the chapel of Beaty Funeral Home in Winnsboro. Funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. following the visitation and after the service procession will go to Black Oak Cemetery, with Pastor Rick Lemons officiating.
