Obituary for Marcella Kay Salter (Griffin)
Marcella Kay Salter, 71, of Winnsboro, Texas sadly passed away on August 22nd, 2022, after a short battle with cancer. She was born on October 3, 1950, in Dallas, Texas to the late Carl and Zonnie Griffin.
Marcella is survived by her son, Matt Hicks and his wife Leah of Covington, Texas and his daughters, Codi and Regan, along with Regan's two daughters, Rylie and Savannah. She also leaves behind her daughter, Jami Lyn Smith and husband Jason of Winnsboro, Texas and their daughters, Peyton, Presley, and Parker. She is survived by her brother Marc Griffin and his wife Judy of Plano, and sisters, Marsha Griffin and husband Michael Seifert of Washington, DC and Marilyn Ballem of Mineola.
Marcella was a retired Special Education Diagnostician who devoted her life to helping others. Lovingly known as “Grandmother” to many, she truly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, her precious dog, Rhonda, and enjoying the tranquility of her home.
At the request of Marcella, there will be no funeral services held. Instead, please consider getting together with those you love and reminiscing on great memories, while making more. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice of East Texas in Tyler would be greatly appreciated.
