Obituary for Larry Lankford Sr.

Larry Ross Lankford, Sr. age 55, of Mineola, Texas, died Wednesday, June 20, 2007, in Mineola, Texas. He was born March 20, 1952, in El Paso and has lived in Mineola since 1969. He graduated from Mineola High School in 1971. Before working as a salesman, he was a conductor for the Union Pacific Railroad. He was a fifth generation descendant of some of the first Wood County Settlers. He loved pets, spending time with his grandchildren, drag racing, and NASCAR. He was also past president of the Mineola Youth Foundation.
He was the son of the late Giles Lankford and the late Ollie (McVicker) Lankford.
He is survived by Jayne Lankford of Mineola and their three sons; Brandon Lankford and wife Jennifer of Mineola, Texas, James "Tony" Lankford of Mineola, Texas, Larry "Waiss" Lankford, Jr. of Ft.Worth, Texas; two grandchildren, Preston and Alyssa Lankford of Mineola, Texas; and lifelong friends, Lilly Petty of Mineola and Larry Tiner of Mineola.
