Juanita Sue Harrington (Nita) was born 13 February 1933 to parents Frank and Margaret Archer. Nita was preceded by her husband Robert Tutle Harrington, her son John Richard Harrington, and her grandson Michael Wayne Harrington.
Nita and Bob were married for 59 years after a two-week courtship that resulted in a wedding ceremony at Desoto, Mississippi. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed Westerns, Willie Nelson, dancing, and history. She was an avid self-taught Biblical scholar, collecting many notebooks full of
handwritten notes of her research. Her accomplishments in ceramics resulted in many blue-ribbon prizes at the State Fair of Texas. Her other artistic pursuits included sewing, quilting, crochet, macrame,
embroidery, and painting. Nita leaves behind a legacy of love for the countless friends and family
members for whom she was a font of support, wisdom, and understanding. Nita was awarded for her more than 15 years of volunteer work for Animal Protection of East Texas (APET-SPCA).
In the early 1960s Nita began her career at Texas Instruments in Dallas as an assembly technician. By the time of her retirement in 1991 this high school drop out was supervising electrical engineers and managing
quality control specifications for classified government contracts. One common remark from those who knew Nita is, “Oh, I love Nita!” She touched many lives throughout her 89 years. She is survived by her children Robert Frank Harrington, Norris Archer Harrington, Elizabeth Harrington, Mary Perez, and Allen Harrington, as
well as grandchildren Adrienne Flores, Rudi Elizabeth McKay, Pete Perez, and Marc Crespo.
