Obituary for Johnny Mack McConnell
Mr. Johnny Mack McConnell, age 77 of Leesburg, Texas passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at his home. He was born on January 4, 1945 in Pittsburg to the late Thomas Frederick McConnell and Buna Patterson McConnell.
Johnny went to Pittsburg Schools, served in the US Navy from June 1963 to June 1967. He retired from Texas Utilities Monticello Plant and Pittsburg ISD. He loved gardening, hunting, fishing, playing cards, dominoes, and spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife of forty -four years, JoAnn Butler McConnell, sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Bruce Petty and grandson, Tyler Blake Johnson.
He is survived by his wife of ten years, Vanessa Dale McConnell of Leesburg; son and daughter-in-law, Brent and Stephanie McConnell of Leesburg; daughters and sons-in-law, Laurin and Chris Shea of Lufkin, Emily and Cy Terral of College Station and Shelley and Al Denman of Detroit, TX; siblings, Sandra and Wilbert Smith of Forest, TX, Jane and DW Lindley Jr. of Pittsburg, TX, Tommy and Anne McConnell of Newsome, TX, Ann McConnell of Leesburg and Janice and Guy DeLuna of Leesburg; eight grandchildren, Ashley and Jarrod Bockmon, Aaron and Kinsey McConnell, Allison and Jack Schrubb, Lindsey Johnson, Darren and Rio Hulme, Rachel and Danny Caldwell, Codi and Wesley Davidson, and Cassi and Mason Hamm; four great grandchildren, Madalyn Grace Bockman, Sawyer Jack Schrubb, Josie Elizabeth Caldwell and Adon Thomas Caldwell.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 7, 2022 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Beaty Funeral Home 816 W. Broadway Winnsboro, TX 75494. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Beaty Funeral Home-Winnsboro at 11:00 am with Rev. David Jackson conducting. Interment will follow at Leesburg Cemetery with Aaron McConnell, Darren Hulme, Jarrod Bockman, Jack Schrubb, Cy Terral, Chris Shea serving as pallbearers.
