Obituary for Johnnie Lee Spikes

A graveside service for Johnnie Lee Spikes, 62, will be held on February 17, at Maple Springs Cemetery in Newsome. Vistitation will be held on Thursday, February 16th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Beaty Funeral Home in Winnsboro. Mr. Spikes died on February 10, 2023. He was born on August 29, 1960, to Alma Hensen and Woodrow Wilson Spikes.

Mr. Spikes was a jack of many trades. He worked at the Dal-Tile warehouse for 18 years, was an over-the-road truck driver, and was a warehouse manager at Proform. He served as a volunteer firefighter for more than 17 years and was captain of Fire Station 2 in Emory.

He was loved by friends, family and neighbors and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His heart was filled with the love of God.

Mr. Spikes is survived by his wife of 40 years, Carrie Diane Spikes; sons, Johnny Wilson Spikes and Jeffery Lee Spikes and wife Salina; granddaughters, Miranda May, Camryn Elizabeth Spikes and Lydia Young, all of Emory; grandsons, Caleb Young and Andrew Young; brother, Glen Spikes of Emory; sisters, Tammy Cole of Dallas, and Sabrina Stutts of Tyler; and 18 nieces and nephews and their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Martha Ann Dickens Neely and Vanessa Clark, and his mother- and father-in-law, Bobby and Peggy McAdams of Emory.
