Obituary for Jesse Cypert

Mr. Jesse Cypert, age 82, of Mineola, Texas, died Saturday, July 28, 2007, in Longview, Texas. He was born September 5, 1924 in Crow, Texas to the late Jesse Cypert and the late Mattie (Gilbreath) Cypert. He was a pipeline inspector and member of the VFW in Mineola.
Mr. Cypert served in the U.S. Army during WWII where at the age of 20 he was wounded in the elbow while fighting in the St. Lo sector of Normandy and was awarded the first of two Purple Hearts he wound receive during his tour of duty along with two Bronze Stars. He was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn Cypert in March of 2005.
He is survived by his one daughter, Paula Ramsey and her husband Tony of Quitman, Texas; two sons, Bob Shields and his wife Cathy of Longview, Texas and Clint Shields and his wife Rhonda of Knoxville, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Brian Turner, Jason Shields, Samantha Horton, Taylor Shields, and Morgan Shields; four great grandchildren, two great grandchildren and one beloved pet named Tommie.
