Obituary for James Charles ""PeeWee"" Sims

On February 16, 2021, James “PeeWee” Sims, loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed into his heavenly home at the age of 71 in Quitman Texas. James was born February 24, 1949 in Quitman, TX to the late Joe & Donnie Sims. His sister Donnie Jo Tarrant and brother-in-law Neil Cameron preceded him in death. James graduated from Quitman High School in 1968. James was a member of Myrtle Springs Baptist Church and he loved his church family. James proudly served in law enforcement for the City of Quitman and Wood County Sheriff Department for many years. He also enjoyed working as a custodian for Quitman ISD for 25 years and was loved by all who knew him. In his later years, James worked for Wal-Mart for 12 years until his retirement in 2020.
James is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Donna Sims of Quitman, TX; Sister Patricia Ann Cameron of Quitman, TX; Brother Bobby Sims and wife Brenda of Jefferson, TX; Daughter Jamie Anderson of Quitman, TX; Step-Daughter Zena Alcorn and husband Anthony of Yantis, TX; Step-Son Shane Creech and wife Tracey of Mineola, TX; Grandchildren Matt Taylor, Kyle Taylor, Hunter Creech, and Harper Anderson; Great Grandchildren Brian, Abigail, and Katlin Taylor.
A memorial and celebration of his life will be held on Saturday March 13, 2 P.M., at Myrtle Springs Baptist Church. The family wishes to thank Myrtle Springs Baptist Church and others for your love, prayers, and supports during this difficult time.
