Mr. James Thomas Mullinax, age 93 of Winnsboro, passed away at his home on Friday, September 23, 2022. He was born on March 11, 1929 in Winnsboro to the late John Loyd Mullinax and Francis Harris Mullinax.
JT was a Rancher and former member of the Winnsboro Model A Club. He was a member of the FM 852 bluegrass band and received the Trails Country Treasure Award in 2013 for being an old-time fiddler. JT was a member of the Junior Oilers baseball team and went on to coach little league. He was an avid fisherman and quail hunter. He also enjoyed flying and building model airplanes.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Wilda Scott and one grandchild, Aubrey Mullinax in 2009.
Survivors include his daughters, Terri Ray Wells and husband, Stephen of Teague, Texas, Sherri Kay Knickerbocker and husband, Jeff of Winnsboro, Texas and Jamie Lynn McGrew and husband, Richard of Harleton, Texas; son, James Wade Mullinax and wife Stacy of Winnsboro; nine grandchildren, Jacob and wife Samantha, Clayton and wife Amelia, Lana and fiancé Matthew, Samantha, Jenna, JT, Travis, JW and Grady; great grandchildren, Jessie, Wayne and sweet baby James due to arrive November 3rd .
