Obituary for James Lynn Jackson

James Lynn Jackson, passed away peacefully at his home in Winnsboro, Texas, on Sunday, April 23, 2023. He was so blessed to have been surrounded by his family on Thursday, April 20th as he was celebrating his 96th birthday. Funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m., Friday, April 28th at Beaty Funeral Home in Winnsboro with a visitation beginning an hour before at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow the service at Lee Cemetery with Dr. David Rose and Lynn Swanner officiating. James Lynn was born April 20, 1927, in Winnsboro, Texas, to Addie and Jessie Jackson. He attended his school years in Winnsboro. James Lynn enlisted in the U.S. Navy on January 31, 1945. Mr. Jackson served on the USS Doyle, USS Davidson, and stationed at the US Naval Station in San Diego, Ca. He married Patricia Ann Corley on April 30, 1951. James and Patricia had four daughters and made their home in Winnsboro. Oilfield life was all James ever knew. He worked many long hours along side his best friend "his brother" J.B. Jackson. Upon his retirement James and J.B. opened up their lawn-mower repair business in their daddy's old mechanic shop. They spent their days doing some mower repair and spent a lot of time just sitting at the home place under the shade of the old pecan trees-talking to one another and visiting with family and friends. Oh, and maybe they did some fishing as well !! James was a member of First Baptist Church Winnsboro. James was preceded in death by his parents Addie and Jessie Jackson; brothers Glen (Snake) Jackson, Billy Bob Jackson, J.B. Jackson; sister Georgia Zeoli; the love of his life Patricia Jackson; his precious daughter Sherry Guy; and great grandson Cameron Davis. Mr. Jackson is survived by daughters Lynn Bell (Terry), Rita Evans (Larry), Corley Smith (Tom); son-in-law Billy Guy; grandchildren Maegan Nix (Robbie), Tab Bell, Matthew Miller (Leslie), Jamie Mattison (Matthew), Heath Guy (Ashley), Callie Madsen (Chris), Sadie Chester (Blake); great grandchildren Cooper Nix, Lundy Cate Nix, Jackson Nix, Maddox Miller, Grey Miller, Flynt Miller, Austin Guy, Ryder Guy, Lynden Guy; and a community of friends.
