Obituary for Jack Williams

Jack Williams (aka: Papaw) passed away June 2, 2022 at the age of 85 years young at his home in Winnsboro from extended illness. Jack was born on August 5, 1936 in Maypearl, Texas to Oscar and Johnnie Williams He married his Wife/ Best Friend 54yrs ago, Rhoda Williams in November 1967. Jack is a Vietnam Naval Veteran: He deployed from Atsugi Japan and flew in 152 missions as Combat Search Air Rescue (CSAR) with Naval Helicopter Combat Squadron HC-7 as air crewman. Jack rounded out his service as an Instructor and Security Detail retiring at NAS Pensacola with 22 years of service. Serving his country was a great source of pride for him. Jack and family then moved to Grand Prairie where he worked and retired from Hamon Oil Co. in Dallas after 20 years. As an avid fisherman, Jack loved fishing with friends and family, especially teaching his grandchildren about the sport. Jack is survived by his wife Rhoda, son Scott (Jennifer) of Winnsboro, Grandson Hunter (Kaitlyn), Great Grandchildren Blakely and Jack Williams of Mt Vernon, Granddaughters Kennedie and Ryann Williams of Winnsboro. Preceded in death by his parents and siblings.
Service for Jack will be: Wednesday, June 15th at 1:15pm at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas TX, 75211. If attending the service, please plan to arrive by 1pm at the Cemetery Reception Office for directions.
