Obituary for Hazel Fern Harris
Mrs. Hazel Fern Harris passed away on Friday, July 27, 2007 at the age of 83. She was born on August 31, 1923 to the late William Zirk and Sarah Shaver Zirk. Mrs. Harris was a mechinist during WWII and taught mechinist school to wounded WWII veterans. She was a member of the Smyrna Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. J.B. Jake Harris; four brothers and two sisters. Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn Nelson of Winnsboro; sisters, Lillian Smith of Harrisonburg, VA and Wilda Kline of Broadway, VA; two grandchildren, Brent Nelson and Lola Zirk and two great grandchildren, Seth Nelson and Collin Zirk.
