Obituary for Floy Laverne Epps Franks

Mrs. Floy Laverne Henderson Epps Franks of Tyler, Texas, passed away on January 5, 2023. She was born in Quitman Texas on September 30, 1932, on the Ziegler family farm to the late James Herbert Henderson and Jesse Ziegler Henderson. After graduating from Mineola High School in 1950 she went to Tyler Junior College to take secretarial classes. After graduating she began working at United Gas Company.
On June 20, 1954, Floy married the love of her life, Robert Paul Epps. Robert and Floy went on to have 2 children, Robert Duane Epps & Lisa Epps Harris. Floy loved being a wife and mother and spent many years as a secretary. After the death of Robert, she met Bob Franks on a Sunday school class trip to New England. After 3 years of dating, they married in 2001 and lived at Emerald Bay and Meadowlake Senior Retirement Center. She was a member of the 1st United Methodist Church and enjoyed sewing and playing Mahjong.
Floy was predeceased by her father, James Henderson, her mother, Jesse Ziegler Henderson, her step-mother, Nanalee Pendleton Henderson and her husbands, Robert Paul Epps and Bob Franks.
Floy is survived by her children, Robert Duane Epps and his wife Loraine, Lisa Epps Harris and her husband Mike, her brother Ronald Wayne Henderson and his wife Billie, her grandchildren, Alexander Wilson Epps, Rebekah Jordan Arrington, David Robert Brock, Andrew Paul Epps & Laura Elaine Pleasant, her great grandchildren Hannah Grace Epps & Jake McCoy Chaney.
Services will be held at Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola Texas. Visitation will be at 1:00 pm and the service will be at 2:00 pm in the Chapel. Honorary Pallbearers are: Alexander Wilson Epps, David Robert Brock, Andrew Paul Epps, Corey Pleasant and John Abbott.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of East Texas.
