Mrs. Alene Dickey, age 92 of Winnsboro, passed away on Wednesday, March 10th, 2021 in Winnsboro. She was born on June 8, 1928 in Mt. Vernon to the late M.P. Ward and Bessie Skidmore Ward. She was a loving mother, homemaker, caregiver and loved gardening and flowers.
Mrs. Dickey was preceded in death by her husband, G.C. Dickey, daughters, Kathy Dickey, Ann Lorenz and Nelda Hallonquist, granddaughter Regina Elder and brother Glynn Ward.
She is survived by son, Richard Dickey of Cleburne; daughters, Gayla Morris and husband Glenn of Mt. Vernon, Glynda Layton and husband Patrick of Winnsboro, brother, D.L. Ward and wife Theresa of Aubrey; 13 grandchildren, Brittany, Melissa, Justin, Mechele, Sylvia, Angela, Cory, Chris, Colby, Helena, Christina, Freda, and Misty and twenty-four great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Beaty Funeral Home-Winnsboro 816 W. Broadway Winnsboro, TX 75494. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 16th, 2021 at Beaty Funeral Home at 11:00 am, Rev. David Hendricks conducting, interment will follow at Smyrna Cemetery in Winnsboro, with Cory Reeks, Benney McMullen, Alan Garner, Dave Ward, Reese Ward, and Justin Dickey serving as pallbearers.
