Obituary for Ernest William "Ernie" Rulison

Ernest (Ernie) Rulison age 74, went home to see his Savior on Tuesday, April 6, 2021, with his family by his side. He was born July 3, 1946 in Houston, Tx. Ernie was a veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of Pine Street Baptist Church. He moved from Houston to Winnsboro in 1983 and worked at Brookshires for many years before joining the family of Team Worldwide becoming Joe Brunson’s Chauffeur, traveling the roads visiting team offices. Ernie also worked for several years in the mailroom. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest and Hazel Rulison; twin brother, Edward Hardy Rulison; brother-in-law, Vernon Sword; second parents, Joe and Joyce Brunson; and lastly his beloved dogs, Oreo and Cocoa His Comrades! Ernie is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Kathy Rulison; daughter, Kristina Sons and her husband Danny of Powderly, Tx.; son, Ernest J. Rulison and his wife Laura of Winnsboro, Tx.; grandchildren, Kacy Rulison of Sulphur Springs, Tx. and her fiancé David Hagerdon, Raeleigh Rulison, Lilly Rulison, Maverick Rulison, all of Winnsboro, Tx. and Andrew Sons of Powderly, Tx.; sisters, Carolyn Sword of Kingwood, Tx., Wanda Ritchie and her husband Bill of Mt. Pleasant, Tx.; brother, Kevin Rulison of Longview, Tx.; numerous nieces, nephews and special longtime friends Ricky and Maryln Tinnell, and last but not least his four legged companion Farrah.
