Obituary for Elsie Pinkerton Odom

Mrs. Elsie Mae (Pinkerton) Odom, age 81, of Mineola, Texas, died Wednesday, September 19, 2007, at Presbyterian Hospital in Plano, Texas. Mrs. Odom was a Housewife and member of the First United Methodist Church in Mineola. She was a past Matron of the Mineola Eastern Star, past president of the 20th Century Club, past president of the Garden Club and past president of the American Legion Auxiliary. She served as a past director of the Mineola Civic Center and the Mineola Planning and Zoning Board. She worked for the Mineola ISD as a teachers aid and helped her late husband, Vernon Odom in their home Building business in Mineola for several years.
She was the daughter of the late Stell Pinkerton and the late Essie (Yancy) Pinkerton and was also preceded in death by one daughter Cheri Lynn Odom and one brother T.R. Pinkerton.
She is survived by her one daughter, Janice Furra and her husband Doug of Dallas, Texas; one sister, Opal Hill and her husband Max of Tyler, Texas; grandsons, Thomas and Kyle Furra of Dallas.
