Obituary for Edgar C. Cooksey

Edgar C. Cooksey, age 88, of Winnsboro, passed away Thursday, October 11, 2007. He was born in Des Moines, Iowa on December 30, 1918. He was a horse jockey, longshoreman, and a member of the Central Christian Church of Winnsboro. He is preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Ophelia Soward and Lloyd Soward; wife, Catheryn Cooksey; son, Russell Cooksey. He is survived by two sons, Lloyd Cooksey of Tacoma, Wa., John Cooksey and wife Tanya of Vancouver, Wa.; daughter, Rosemary Hubbard and husband George of Winnsboro; one sister, Florine Wheeler of Camas, Wa.; eight grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
