Obituary for Cora Edna Gillis

Mrs. Cora Edna Gillis passed away on Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at the age of 101. She was born on March 19, 1906 to the late Jody Caviness and Hattie Foster Caviness. Mrs. Gillis was a retired teacher and member of the Retired Teachers Association, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Winnsboro. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Paul Gillis; a daughter-in-law, Kay Spivey Gillis; brother, Claud Caviness and sister, Mollie Harris. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Lila Fay and Claude Sparkman of Winnsboro and Sue and Cary Spence of Winnsboro; son, Roddy Gillis of Rockwall; eleven grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
