Obituary for June McDougald

The precious jewel in our family, Gloria June McDougald, of Mineola, Texas, closed her eyes and entered into glory on February 14, 2022. June was born to the late Joseph Arris and Ethel (Bryant) McCarley in Quitman, Texas. She was a life-long resident of the area having graduated from Quitman High School and attended for a time East Texas Teacher's College in Commerce. June was a bank teller for 33 years at Mineola Community Bank. She was quick with a smile for the customers she served and was a reliable employee for the bank. Mrs. McDougald was a 50 plus years member of the First Baptist Church of Mineola. She was active in the church nursery tending to hundreds of children as if they were her own. June loved cooking a delicious meal for her family and giving kisses and hugs to her grandbabies. June was preceded in death by her parents and brother Leonard McCarley. She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years Charles McDougald; sons James McDougald and wife Chris, Jason Redding and wife Mindy; daughter Elaine Dower and husband Gary; grandchildren Jacob McCaslin, Lara McDougald, and Claire McDougald; great-grandchildren Calem Redding and Canyon Redding. The family will receive friends at Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola on Thursday, February 17th from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A funeral to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 19th at the First Baptist Church in Mineola with Bro. Cody Mize officiating. Those serving as pallbearers will be Jason Redding, Calem Redding, Jim Bowker, Gordon Tiner, Gary Dower, and Eddie McDougald. Burial will follow the service at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Mineola.
