Frank was born June 2, 1932 in Shiner, Texas to the late Frank and Alma (Kempe) Chandler. Frank lost both of his parents at the young age of 13 and 14 years old. After graduating high school in 1949, he went to live with his Uncle and Aunt in Dallas, Texas, where he met his wife-to-be, Elaine.
In 1950, Frank was drafted into the Army. He was stationed in Ft. Lewis, Washington and a part of the Second Infantry Division.
In 1956 Frank and Elaine married, raising two beautiful children together. Frank was employed by TD Industries as a Pipe Fitter Welder, where he worked until his retirement in 1994. While still living in Dallas, Frank served as a Deacon and an Elder for the White Rock Church of Christ.
Frank and Elaine moved to Mineola, where he enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with their grandbabies. While enjoying his retirement, Frank still was very active, especially in his church. He loved working with the youth and served as a “marriage counselor”. He also loved telling stories about his days in Shiner, Texas and was very proud of his German Heritage, he even enjoyed listening to Polka music.
Frank was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Alma Chandler; parents-in-law, Guy and Cladia McClure; sister-in-law, Barbara Hall and his cousin, Dr. Bill Kempe.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Elaine Chandler; son, Steven Chandler and his wife Karen Alexander Chandler; daughter, Karen Tucker and her husband Billy Tucker; his grandchildren, Jeff Chandler, Keith & Kristen Christensen, Allie Tucker and two great-grandchildren.
