Obituary for Lou Vada Hensley

Print
Lou Vada Hensley lived life fully with sweet smiles of love and acceptance. She was born in Arkansas to Irvin and Mary Hensley in 1913. Her parents and sisters, Eva Cain, Goldie Burnett, Bessie Coffman, brothers John Alvin Hensley and Berlin Hensley precede Vada in death. She is survived by her loving and caring niece Jana Johnson and husband Gary of Winnsboro, Niece Reva Lou O’Barr and husband Mike of Russellville, Nephew David Coffman of Russellville, Nephew Charles Wright and wife Sandy of Russellville, and many great nieces and nephews that adored their Aunt Vada.
Vada was a pioneer for working women and moved to Dallas in 1941 where she enjoyed a 30 year career as a Senior Maps Draftsman with Atlantic Refining Company. Vada had a zest for life and lived well and abundantly for just shy of 105 years. Her charming smile will be missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers please pray for and donate to the people whose service is a bold witness of love in the care for the elderly and disabled. Whispering Pines Nursing Home and Hospice of East Texas cared for Vada with compassion and integrity.

A graveside service for Lou Vada Hensley will be held 11 am, Friday, October 5, 2018 at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Russellville, Arkansas.
