Obituary for Lillian Mae Beard (Brown)

Lillian Beard, age 89, of Winnsboro, passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2018. She was born in Winnsboro to Thomas Ellis Brown and Mary Lou (Stacy) Brown and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Winnsboro.
After graduating from Winnsboro High School, where she played basketball for the Lady Woodchucks, she worked briefly at Cain Bank. There she met her future husband, Bob Beard. After they married, she became a homemaker, raising four children while operating her own upholstery business. She later worked as a receptionist/secretary for various businesses in Winnsboro. She enjoyed coaching and playing softball, bowling, playing 42, and using her crafting talents to make T-shirts and quilts for craft shows.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James R. "Bob" Beard, sister, Glenda Burdick, and brother, Earl Brown. She is survived by son, Jim Beard and wife Lynn of Bryan; daughters, Cynthia Henson and husband James of Winnsboro, Mary Lee Beard of Sulphur Springs, and Sue Reid of Winnsboro; sister, Mary Tom McLemore of Winnsboro; grandchildren, Damon Delucia, Stacie Thompson, and Darren Henson; great-grandchildren, Peyton Delucia and Tristan Henson.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 20, 2018, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, at Beaty Funeral Home-Winnsboro, 816 W. Broadway, Winnsboro, Texas 75494. Immediately following visitation, a graveside service officiated by Brother Nub Brown will be held at Willard Cemetery.
