Charles Howard Reed of Pine Mills, TX. passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2018 in Quitman, TX. He was born in Crystal City, TX. on June 27, 1938 to the late George Howard Reed & Evelyn Joyce Estes. Charles was the retired owner of OFL Office Furniture, Inc. in Dallas & a graduate of Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, TX. Following retirement he moved to the family farm in Pine Mills, TX. East of Mineola. He was a substitute teacher in both Mineola & Quitman Schools. Charles was an avid golfer & a member of the Mineola Country Club & loved riding his horses. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Philip Estes Reed & Step daughter, Christie Page Reed. He is survived by his son, Randy Reed, of Dallas & his Granddaughter, Delaney Reed, who currently attends Tarleton State University in Stephenville, TX., two Step Children, Johnny Reed of Pine Mills & Diane Reed Bartek of Cross Roads, two Grandsons Capt. Colton Bartek, USMC & Dakota Bartek as well as his former wife, Carolyn Waters Reed and companion, Jane Guyler Wiley.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 17th, 2018 at Beaty Funeral Home 5396 S. State Hwy. 37 Mineola, TX 75773 at 1:00 pm, Brp. Paul Ransberger conducting.
