Obituary for Lon L. Zimmerman

Lon L.  Zimmerman
Mr. Lon L. Zimmerman, age 72 of Winnsboro, passed away on Tuesday, December 26th, 2017 in Tyler. He was born on March 29th, 1945 in Plainview to the late Horace Zimmerman and Mary Edith Hart Zimmerman. He was a retired aircraft mechanic for Lockheed Martin, and attended Pentecostal Lighthouse Church in Winnsboro. Lon served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded eight Bronze Stars and two Purple Hearts.
He was preceded in death by his father Horace Zimmerman.
He is survived by, wife of forty-eight years, Kathy Zimmerman of Winnsboro, mother, Mary Edith McDowell of Vancouver, WA; sons, David Zimmerman and wife Jennifer of Lindale, Aaron Zimmerman and wife Brenda of Winnsboro, Benjamin Zimmerman and wife Melanie of Quinton, VA, Joshua Zimmerman of Winnsboro; daughters, Sarah Dierflinger and husband Everette of Winnsboro, Ruth Zimmerman of Tyler, Rebekah Scott and husband Johsua of Newberg, OR; brothers, Larry Zimmerman of Milwaukie, OR, Robert Zimmerman of Vancouver, WA; sister Linda Mathis of Coral Gables, FL; eighteen grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be held on Friday, December 29th, 2017 at Pentecostal Lighthouse 636 W. Broadway Winnsboro, TX 75494 at 2:00 PM, Bro. George Dickens conducting. Interment will be 12:00 PM Friday at Winterfield Cemetery in Pickton, with David Zimmerman, Aaron Zimmerman, Ben Zimmerman, Josh Zimmerman, Ian Dierflinger, Nathan Hawks and Remington Zimmerman serving as pallbearers.
