Obituary for Arvel J. Swann

Arvel J.  Swann
Arvel Swann, age 88 of the Pineview Community near Winnsboro, passed away on Friday, December 1st, 2017. He was born on October 9th, 1929 to James Alfonzo Swann and Iva Mae (Moss) Swann. He was a Veteran of the Korean War, having obtained the rank of Sergeant. On December 4, 1954 he married Sue Yvonne Coston in Pineview, Texas. He was a founding and always active member of Pineview Baptist Church where he served as Deacon and song leader. The Swann family’s fondest memories are of times Arvel spent involved with his church family. Arvel was proficient at all things country life, but his prowess around the Washer pit was legendary!
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers James Swann, Roy Swann, Elden Swann, Gerald Swann, William Swann, his sisters Lois Bailey, Imadell Lambert, Gypsy Martin, and Rebecca Bench, and his great-granddaughter River Swann.
He is survived by his wife Yvonne Swann, his sons Ricky Swann and wife Debbie, Scott Swann and wife Tammy, his daughter Sheilah Todd and husband Roy, his sister Joy Walsh and brother Dorman Swann. He is also survived by his grandchildren Daniel Swann, Dustin Swann, Chris Swann, Hunter Swann, Kelsey Mullino, Justin Mullino, Cody Swann, Haley Swann, and great-grandchildren Capri Swann, Kaleb Mullino, and Brylee Swann.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 3rd, 2017 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Pineview Baptist Church followed by Funeral Services at the Church at 3:00 pm. Bro. Ronny Spence will be officiating. Interment will follow at Pineview Cemetery, with Daniel Swann, Dustin Swann, Chris Swann, Hunter Swann, Justin Mullino, and Gary Bailey serving as pallbearers.
