Riku Petteri  Salonen
Riku Petteri Salonen, 41, of Mineola, Texas, passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2017. He was born on February 3rd, 1976 in Kotka, Finland, to Torsti Salonen and Sylvi Bjorninen.

Riku grew up and lived in Kotka, Finland, and enjoyed playing semi-professional soccer for KTP and working for Silja Line cruise ship. In 2004 he traveled to Florida where he met Kristina Nelson. The two were married in 2005. They moved together to Texas in 2007. Riku worked for Lowes in Tyler and Lindale. For the past three years he drove a truck for Schneider Trucking. He was a loving father to his daughter, Oona and two boys, Wyatt and Garrett. Riku enjoyed woodworking, Formula 1 Racing, and KU basketball.

Riku is survived by his parents, Torsti Salonen and Sylvi Bjorninen, his sister Annika Kahilainen, his brother Vesa Salonen, his daugher Oona Salonen, (all of Finland) his wife Kristina Salonen and their two sons, Wyatt Salonen and Garrett Salonen of Mineola.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Mineola Nature Preserve Amphitheater on December 9th, at 11:00am, with a lunch to follow.
