John P. Bowling, 66, of Winnsboro died Thursday, November 2, 2017 in Tyler, TX after a lengthy illness. John was born on Friday January 5, 1951, to James C. Bowling and Josephine Spiers Bowling in Manchester, England. John was a member of the Australian Army. A few years before his death, John became an American citizen. He worked for Schzumberger Company as a directional drilling engineer. John attended college and received his bachelor's degree and became a teacher as well. John and Colette traveled and lived in many parts of the world.
John raised scholarship money for local kids. He was an avid actor and prop maker for the local theater, a reserve police officer, a fine jewelry maker and was always involved with his community.
He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife Colette; one son Tom Bowling; one daughter Jenevieve Kos; two step-daughters; Joanne Vasquez and Michelle Vasquez, three brothers; James, Michael and Robert Bowling and one sister; Mary Elizabeth Lyall. John will be missed by all who loved and knew him.
