Obituary for Peggy Brown Allen

Peggy Brown  Allen
Mrs. Peggy Brown Allen passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at the age of 82. She was born on January 1, 1935 in Hopkins County to the late G.A. "Red" and Nettie Dunavant Brown. She was a wonderful and loving wife to her husband, Roy Donald Allen of 63 years. She was a mother of five children, and “Nanny” to eleven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Pine Street Baptist Church, where she worshipped and praised the Lord and loved him with all her heart. She loved to be outdoors, camping, fishing, hunting, swimming, and especially gardening. She loved painting with pastels, and was quite the artist. She was full of love for everyone and loved unconditionally. She was an extraordinary woman who touched so many lives. In addition to her husband she is survived by her daughters, Linda Whitehurst and husband Lee of Winnsboro, Vicky Rogers and husband Frank of Winnsboro, Tammy Duffield of Winnsboro; sons, Michael Allen and wife Kim of Arp, Vernon Allen of Winnsboro; sister, Molly Henson of Winnsboro; four brothers, Gerald, Jesse, Sammy and Ben Brown all of Winnsboro; eleven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and numerous other family members. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 3, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Beaty Funeral Home-Winnsboro; graveside services will be held at Harmony Cemetery on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 1:00 PM, Bro. Charles Ethridge officiating; grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
