Obituary for Graddie Withrow
Graddie Lee Withrow, 93, of Alba, TX passed away on Monday, January 16, 2017 in Alba, TX. He was born on Thursday, August 23, 1923 in Alba, TX to the late Lonnie Ray and Hallie Leona Withrow.
Graddie was in the United States Army from March 1943 until August 1945. He married Dena Merle Haskins on November 2, 1945. He worked for Dallas Fire Department until 1971 when he retired and moved back to Alba, TX. After his wife of fifty years, Dena Withrow, passed away, he later married Kay Elliott on August 29, 2011. They resided in Alba, TX until he went home on January 16, 2017. He was member of Golden Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie Withrow and Hallie Withrow; first wife, Dena Withrow and two brothers.
Graddie is survived by his wife of four years, Kay Withrow; step children, Teresa and Matt Mullins of Mineola, TX, Michael and Holly Elliott of Alba, TX, Jeremy and Briana Elliott of Alba, TX; sister, Francine Carter and husband Eugene of Lufkin, TX; seven grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 from 6-8 PM at Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola, TX. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Beaty Funeral Home, Mineola at 11:00 AM officiated by Bro. Ed Lewis. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Mineola, TX.
