Joy Lee Dickerson, 95, of Mineola, Texas passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2018. She was born on August 23, 1922 in Mineola, Texas to Frank Warren and Laura Bell Creech. She graduated from New Hope High School in 1939. Joy Lee married Malcom Perry Dickerson December 9th, 1941, two days after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. They were married for 64 years. Joy Lee was a home maker, she enjoyed sewing, quilting, baking for her friends and family, and loved watching the University of Texas play sports.

She is survived by her son Lynn (wife Charlotte) Dickerson of Groves, TX, daughter Susan Duke (Patrick Gallagher) of Georgetown, TX, son Michael Perry Dickerson, grandson Kevin (wife Erin) Duke of Austin, TX, granddaughter Lanie Childress, Groves, TX grandsons, Trever and Jarrod Dickerson and great grand-daughter Kaitlyn (husband Stewart) White of Austin, TX. and several nieces and nephews

Visitation will be held Monday, February 26, 2018 at 11:00 am -12:30 pm at Beaty Funeral Home, in Mineola followed by a graveside service at New Hope cemetery with Dr. Mark Neeley officiating. In lieu of flowers if desired, memorials may be made in her name to Alzheimer’s Association of Central Texas at www.alz.org/texascapital or a charity of your choice.
