Doris Oletta Averitt Wiseman
Doris Oletta Averitt Wiseman, age 84 of Mineola, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2018. She was born February 4, 1934 to the late Ernest Averitt and James Ruby Stephens Averitt.
Doris graduated from Mineola High School in 1952. She united in marriage to Benjamin Cleophus Wiseman. Mr and Mrs. Wiseman were married for fifty-seven years and raised three children together.
Mrs. Wiseman thoroughly enjoyed serving her community. She was a member of the Mineola Garden Club, the United Methodist Women’s Club, a leader in the Girl Scouts, and she also taught Sunday School.
Doris will be remembered by her son, Benjamin Ernest Wiseman, MD - Waco; daughters, Sandra Lynne Wiseman Bennett - Mineola and Doris Elaine Wiseman Revell (Eddie) - Hurst; grandchildren, David Wiseman, Sarah Wiseman, Scott Wiseman, Joseph Wiseman, James Bennett, Daniel Bennett, Rachael Bennett, Jennifer Ramey, Melissa Revell and, one great-grandchild, Michael Armitage.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Cleophus Wiseman; her grandson, Matthew Wiseman and her parents Ernest and James Ruby Stephens Averitt.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 9, 2018 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Beaty Funeral Home 5396 S. State Hwy. 37 Mineola, TX. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, May 10th, 2018 at 2:00 pm in Beaty Funeral Home 5396 S. State Hwy. 37 Mineola, TX 75773, with burial to follow at Roselawn Memorial Garden in Mineola, Texas. Officiating the ceremony will be her nephew Rev. Doug Fulenwider. Her grandchildren, James Bennett, Daniel Bennett, Scott Wiseman, and Joseph Wiseman will be serving as active pallbearers.
